Our first stop of the tour was at the Orange Grove Library - Harrison County Library System. This event featured Daniel Tiger. Families viewed a Daniel Tiger episode, enjoyed a family activity, and a read-aloud by MPB's Ed Said.

We had a great time at the Brandon Public Library during the April stop of the MPB Library Literacy Tour featuring Ed Said! The event featured an episode of PBS KIDS’ Curious George, a read-aloud of I am the Wind, by Michael Karg, and a creative craft activity. After all that, Ed Said led us in a fun dance, and he stayed after the program to take pictures with families. Saturday, March 26, 2022, the Library Literacy Tour took place at the Ridgeland Public Library. Families viewed a Ready Jet Go episode, a read-aloud, and enjoyed a family activity. A lucky participant won a PBS KIDS Playtime Tablet, and their family received a special gift. Participating families received a book, courtesy of our partners, the Mississippi Library Commission, and the local library.
On February 26, 2022, the Pinkalicious and Peterrific stop of the MPB Library Literacy Tour was hosted by the Judge George W. Armstrong Library in Natchez, MS. Children and parents watched a segment of Pinkalicious and Peterrific, a PBS KIDS program designed to encourage preschool-age kids to explore the arts and develop their creativity. During the event, children participated in a “Create Your Own Sock Puppet,” which was developed by PBS Learning Media as an extension of the Pinkalicious and Peterrific segment that had been screened earlier. They also participated in a live read-aloud of Muddy: The Story of Blues Legend Muddy Waters, written by Michael Mahin and illustrated by Evan Turk. There was a pre-recorded segment featuring Ed Said, which promoted healthy eating habits and physical activity. At the conclusion of the event, a child was selected at random to win a PBS Playtime Tablet.

Families viewed a Clifford the Big Red Dog episode, enjoy a family activity, and a read-aloud and a special appearance by MPB's Ed Said. One lucky participant won a PBS KIDS Playtime Tablet and his/her family received a special gift.
Our third stop of the tour was at the Medgar Evers Library in Jackson, Mississippi. This event featured Nature Cat. Families viewed a Nature Cat episode, enjoyed a family activity, and a read-aloud by MPB's Ed Said. One lucky participant won a PBS KIDS Playtime Tablet and his/her family received a special gift.
